Accountability Experiment Day6

So I was pretty down on Friday after my weigh in, BUT I sneaked a peek at the scale this morning and that 1.4 gain is already gone. I'm going to continue to keep working hard this week (despite this huge blizzard we are supposed to get) and hopefully it will pay off at the scale this week!
Here's day 6:

Accountability Experiment Day4

I must say..I'm tired of taking pictures of my food! A coworker even asked me what in the world I was doing. I simply said "I'm taking pictures of my food to help me control my eating habits." She seriously looked at me like I was crazy. I guess I am crazy! Here's day 4:

Accountability Experiment Day2

You can read more about my Accountability Experiment here. I will be blogging daily my Weight Watcher PointsPlus in pictures until Valentine's Day to get in control with eating healthier. Here's how Day2 looked:

After work I went to the gym..I walked on the treadmil for 30 minutes and then headed to my Monday Night Zumba class. It was a great workout!
This experiment has already got me thinking of planning my next meals and how I can incorporate more fruits, vegetables, fiber and PowerFoods into my daily diet which is something I never really did before. I just kind of grabbed whatever and off I went. It is a good feeling.
Sara blogged about mini goals and it got me thinking about maybe I should set some smaller goals for myself instead of focusing on the ultimate goal.
Mini Goals:
1. Drink 100oz water a day
2. Workout Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
3. Lose 2 pounds at WW this week
4. Do arm weights on Wednesday

Accountability Experiment Day1

Alright, I have not been losing weight. I actually have not lost much since running my first 5k. I am happy that I maintained throughout the holidays, but I'm ready to shed these last 40 pounds to get to my goal weight.
So, I came up with an idea called..Accountability Experiment. I am going to be taking pictures of everything I eat and blogging the Weight Watchers PointsPlus everyday until Valentine's Day. I need to be holding myself to accountable, because I feel like I have the exercise part down, but I need to really work on the nutritional part. I don't always track and most of the time I "guess" how many PointsPlus it is. This should help me get back on top of my eating habits. I need to lose the rest of this weight!
So, here was today:

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Let me just start off by saying..this has been my favorite season! Probably because I actually followed every episode for once instead of just piecing the drama together between re-runs!
Kyle Richards is my favorite..I love the way she is with her husband, her children, {most} of her, that cute "white party" she hosted.. just everything. She did seem to be in the middle of most of the drama this season, but she was dealing with some crazies..especially those ladies at Camille's dinner party? Oh, and her own sister. Now, that is crazy in itself.
This season was motivating for me..everyone was really physically fit and wearing cute clothes.

Love her! Can't wait to watch the reunion show next week!

Babies on the brain

..Not for me at least!
My friend Carrie gave birth to her son last month! Introducing Remington:
How adorable is that little guy?! So sweet..and who is loving the way hospital newborn pictures look these days?! Way nicer. So I am co-hosting a baby shower in her honor. I think it's called a 'sip and see' since she's already had him..but that just sounds strange to me!
I decided to make little Remington a diaper cake for the shower. Now, I've never made one of these and I don't really consider myself creative. So I did what anyone else would tutorial after tutorial and and countless how-to youtube videos haha. It really wasn't necessary because it really did end up being pretty easy. I ended up making a smaller cake than you usually see..only 50 diapers, but I think it's still super cuuute :o) Easy as 1..2..3..
Not bad for my 1st attempt :)

WW weigh in 1-14-11

Yay so I'm back with my weekly WW weigh in posts. Like I mentioned a few posts ago, I did fall off the fit train for a few weeks. Too many weeks, in fact, that when I went to weigh in at Weight Watchers on Friday that I was "terminated" in their system. I was so ashamed. But it's okay, right? I never really quit counting points..I was just guessing a lot and not tracking when the new PointsPlus program came out. Then Las Vegas, moving, Christmas, New Years happened and I just wasn't weighing in. I'm back though..tracking..weekly meal plans..working out 4-5 times a week..and attending the weekly meetings. Oh to be back on a routine..such a calmer feeling.

I tried two new work outs this week. On Thursday night I did a "Hip Hop Hustle" class at my's an hour long and we just kept adding 8 count steps to a dance routine. Then at the end of the class we focused on abs..tons of crunches. WOW I was feeling it the next day. Then Friday I went to the class "Cardio Party." The first 30 minutes is Turbo Kick, then the next 30 is Zumba and the last 30 minutes are weights. This was my first time trying Turbo Kick...I really wasn't getting the hang of it but the instructor said it takes at least 3 tries to get all the moves down, but at least I stuck it out. I bailed on the weights section of the class..I was tired and J and I had plans for the night. Here is me after Cardio Party:

This week my goal is to track all my foods, get in all my work outs and drink at least 64 oz of water a day. I will have to weigh in next Saturday instead since I have to work Friday due to tomorrow being a holiday! I hope you all have a great week!

2011 Goals

Last year was really the first year I made a resolution and actually stuck to it. I've been on Weight Watchers for over a year now and it feels great to know that I've kept up with my weight loss goals. When I first started my goal seemed so far, a year later, it feels attainable and I know I can get there. I really don't like the word resolutions..I like the word goals much better, so here are my 2011 Goals:
  1. Lose at least 1 pound a week until I meet my goal weight of 150lbs.
  2. Try to cook more and get more creative with meal plans.
  3. Stay on Synthroid all year long.
  4. Run another 5k.
  5. Get more creative with my blog.
  6. Save $12k in 2011 (that's $1000 a month and totally do-able if we stick to it!)
  7. Find another company to work for that I feel happier with. (I WILL have a job change in 2011 one way or another!)
  8. Spend more time with my niece and nephew.
  9. Grow my Scentsy business
  10. Organize my scrapbooking stuff and finally finish my wedding scrapbook!
I know I am about a week or so late with these, but I do plan on sticking to them! What are your 2011 goals??

Hypothyroidism: I hate you.

So, I posted here about when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism around October 2009. I started taking 50mg of Synthroid regularly. I started my weight loss journey in January 2010 and was losing 1-2lbs a week and feeling great. Around May 2010 is when I really started focusing on the whole exercise bit and had soo much energy; it was amazing.

 In June 2010 my doctor stopped practicing and I had switched insurances. I honestly felt like I was "cured" of my thyroid disease, because I felt energetic and was losing weight, so I stopped taking my medication. Throughout the summer, I was still losing weight, but right around September/October is when I started feeling weight loss was at a stand still and I was having a harder and harder time getting motivated about anything. I blamed it on the change of weather and all my sinus issues/holidays/stress and any other excuse, but secretly I knew I should probably get back on my thyroid medication. 

In the last few weeks with a lot of encouragement from my husband and dad, I found a new PCP who was accepting new patients, had all my medical records switched over to that office and made an appointment. I went on Friday and talked to him about where I was, how I felt, etc. Since I've been off the medication I've lost 8 pounds total. When I was on the medication is when I lost my 36lbs. After taking my blood work and reading my results he asked me how I was even functioning. My TSH was at a 12..keep in mind I believe the normal range is .5-5. So, back on Synthroid I go. I started taking it today and will be taking it regularly..probably my whole life. I will keep you updated on how it goes and how I'm feeling :o)

I'm back :)

I did fall off the fit train there for a bit and was feeling very ashamed {hence the lack of posting} but then I realized..that's what this blog is hold me accountable. I didn't lose any weight through the holidays..but guess what? I didn't gain either. I'm OK with that. I enjoyed the holidays and I hope you did too! I'm back on this weight loss journey full force and blogging is resumed! I promise I won't desert you guys again :o)

In December right before Christmas J and I headed to Las Vegas for a few days of fun with my mom and dad. It was a little celebratory trip for him finishing the semester with straight A's and our Christmas gifts to eachother.

Overall it was an awesome trip and we can't wait to go back! Christmas with the family was wonderful and ringing in 2011 with friends and family was the best. What more could I ask for? Oh yea, maybe it lose some more LBS!! Here's where I'm at currently:
We are all moved into our new apartment, Jordan is enrolled for this semester, I've had a few interviews for new companys that will hopefully bring me more happiness, back on track with my workouts and I'm ready to give 2011 my cheesy as that sounds :o)
